PhD Student (f/m/d) in theoretical chemistry of 2D materials and their heterostructures

The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.
The Department of Theoretical Chemistry is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) in theoretical chemistry of 2D materials and their heterostructures.
Your tasks
- Simulations of optoelectronic properties of 2D heterostructures of transition-metal dichalcogenides
- Preparation of training sets for machine learning of interatomic potentials
- Analysis or results and dissemination as publications and on conferences/workshops/schools
- Help in teaching duties (10% of work)
Your profile
- Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Chemistry, Physics or Materials science or related field
- Knowledge of quantum-mechanical simulations using standard DFT-based codes
- Skills in 2D materials field
- Programming using Python or alike desirable
- Team player, adaptation in international community
- Very good English (speaking, listening, and writting)
