We are currently seeking applicants for a Database Engineer position. This position will work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, architecting data solutions, implementing data models and infrastructure, and ensuring data integrity and security. The role requires a deep understanding of database architecture, strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.

Your Tasks

Data Solution Design and Development

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Design and architect data models, data pipelines, and data integration strategies to support business objectives.
  • Responsible for designing, developing and implementing robust and scalable database solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate data technologies, tools, and frameworks for optimal data management and analytics.
  • Work together with cloud and solution architects to design and implement cloud, hybrid and on-prem solutions.

Data Processing and Analysis

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines and workflows for efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) operations to integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and data profiling to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to implement advanced analytics and machine learning models.

Data Security and Governance

  • Implement data security and access controls to ensure data privacy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices to maintain data quality and consistency.
  • Monitor data integrity, identify data issues, and implement data cleansing and data quality improvement processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and metadata management for effective data lineage and data governance.

Technical Support and Collaboration

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to data solutions, databases, and data processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to deliver integrated data solutions.
  • Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in data management and analytics technologies while being pragmatic in making the best technology choices for the company’s needs.
  • Share knowledge and mentor other team and business members to foster a culture of learning and growth.

Your Profile

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent combination of theoretical knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Data Engineer, Database Developer, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in database architecture, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL tools, and data integration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Understanding of data governance, data privacy, and data security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Desired knowledge skills and abilities: 

  • Azure and\or AWS associate level certifications (professional level preferred)
  • Strong experience in data analytics
  • Intermediate knowledge of security concepts (firewalls, identity management, etc.)
  • Strong communications skills – Capable of tailoring message to audience
  • Experience as a team lead preferred

Travel: 

  • 10% overnight travel to domestic and international locations (e.g. US, Germany, South America)

Total Compensation Range: $96,000 - $129,800 (inclusive of Base and Bonus).
